>"Yeah, perfect"
>Project a path to under Rinnosuke
>Scoot on over and start digging.
>"Good," says Mokou as she heads toward the stairs. "I'll stay back and make sure things don't go sour."
>You take a moment to project a good path toward Rinnosuke then scrabble toward the dirt, which involves a fair deal of ineffective flailing as your claws and paws find little purchase on the ice. With some effort, you reach the dirt and can finally move about with a semblance of dignity. You center yourself and look toward Rinnosuke again to make certain of your path, and to confirm that he has not moved at all. Finding everything prepared, you sink your claws into the soil.
>The mud practically parts like water before the tips of your claws. The curvature of your claws and paws create natural scoops, making it easy to fling the mud aside with short, precise motions. Within moments, you have a hole deep enough to fit your head in comfortably. Soon you are able to crawl into the beginnings of a decent tunnel. The mud gives way to dirt, which is a little harder to dig, but easier to move out of the way. You quickly find yourself passing dirt under and around yourself, and kicking out it of the way with your back legs. The light quickly dims to uselessness, and you find yourself prodding at the dirt with your nose after jabbing a finger on a rock. It is definitely chilly down here, but not nearly so bad as the ice above, it is bothersome but not actively uncomfortable. At first the dirt grows progressively harder as you move away from the melted ice, but as you go deeper the cold has had less time to affect things and overhead the hardened soil proves a nice ceiling.
>Moving along, you find that you're no longer able to kick the dirt far enough away that it clears the tunnel entrance any longer, and it starts to pile up on the floor of the tunnel itself.
