Vagrancy is a crime, really. But yeah, that's why I was lying about it. If they wanted it that bad, then all the better to just destroy it.

Ideally we have Nitori run a counterfeit pen over it first, but I don't think Shion knows enough about how that works to think of it, given she doesn't get large enough bills to get checked.

>Nitori nods. "I see. Never thought their stuff would cost us some things too, almost as if they radiate pestillence..."

> Isn't it a crime to destroy currency?  If it turns out to be real that is

>You're sure it's a crime back in Musoukyo. But in Gensokyo? You're not so sure...

// Shion knows it's a crime where she came from and that's enough to worry her and ask
> "Say, why don't we check if it's really counterfeit when we get back, for all we know they might have been bluffing to make us give it back?  Back where I used to live it was a crime to destroy currency"

Why does Shion care about crimes? Her existence is a crime. Half of the things we've done in this RP is crimes. Why is crime all of a sudden a concern now?

That said, I'm down with checking.

>"So let's head back before it gets worse."

>"Right. The longer we are outdoors, the more likely we'll run into the Sukeban again." Nitori says.

> "Say, why don't we check if it's really counterfeit when we get back, for all we know they might have been bluffing to make us give it back?  Back where I used to live it was a crime to destroy currency"

>"Maybe?" Nitori answered, unsure about her opinion.

>Drop the worrying about crimes. We are crimes.

>You decide to stop worrying about crimes, as you remember that you've done some criminal things too, and have no rights to think that. The Yorigami Sukeban may be a ruthless mafia, but robbing them is still illegal. (good thing the cops don't know about it...yet...)

>Head back.

>You and Nitori head back home.

x-x-x

>You get back to Nitori's apartment to find it in the state you last saw it in.
>That is, the door is reduced to splinters, and the rest of the apartment is left as a complete mess. Not to mention the bullet holes near the window you two escaped out of earlier...

>You decide to help Nitori tidy up the place a bit.

>You find more useless scrap and debris sprawled across the floor than things that are still useable.
>Oh well. Might as well clean up the mess a bit...
>As you sweep the debris into a neat pile for easier cleaning, something in the pile catches your eye...

>You pick up the item for a closer examination.

>It appears to be a photo of a smiling Nitori standing side-by-side with another person.
>That other person's face is obscured by a reddish-black splotch, but you can still see a frilly red ribbon on top of a head of green hair.

>Speaks of the devil, Nitori reemerges from the kitchen, with the lighter you asked for earlier.
>"Sorry it took me so long. Those Sukeban bitches made a really big mess of the apartment..." She says as she hands you the lighter.

>Look at Nitori with a "neutral" expression. Hold back smiling... she would probably think we find the mentioned problem funny otherwise.

>"Used... to...? If I may ask.... what happened?"

>Nitori became gloomy as she thought about the specific details of that incident.

>"It was a year ago. We were in the National Bank, registering an account for depositing our lifesavings...
>But then, six women entered the Bank, each of them carrying semi-automatic rifles. Shot and killed all the security guards before holding everyone else hostage...
>The gunwomen demanded to have all of the bank's money and the valuable belongings of everyone present...
>But nobody responded. So one of them - presumably their boss - pointed her gun at a little girl, threatening to blow her head off if nobody complies...
>As the bank teller were ready to give up the money, and the patrons their valuables, to save the innocent little girl...that's when my friend stepped up...
>She put herself between the little girl and the gunwomen's boss, daring the latter to pick on someone their own size...
>The gunwomen's boss didn't take it kindly, so she..."

>Nitori paused a bit, and started sniffling. Looks like this is the most tragic part of the story...

>"She knocked my friend down on the floor, then punched her in the throat with enough force as to shatter the marble floor tile under her..."

>That's when you noticed tears coming out of her eyes...
