霊夢の伝説
« on: November 18, 2011, 01:19:50 AM »
i had to write a short story for a japanese class assignment

no overly complex grammar or anything, but i'm autocompleting kanji because it's easier to read and you probably can't google translate it well either lol

I decided to try anyway to translate it...

If the translation was even CLOSE...Reimu's a JERK in this, isn't she!?

so, uh, not going to even make a translation, for those of us who lack any Japanese knowledge? Or are you expecting us to rely on Google Translate's good graces?

Yeah, I've actually seen "yo" used often... though in writing I think it might usually be よう rather than よ.

not really, if you were trying to extend it you'd go よおおおおお or something equally obnoxious

Well... I am Chinese so I can understand most of the Kanji like 伝説 = legend, 同意 = agree, 悲 = sad, but i am completely clueless with the rest of the phrases written in Japanese script. Someone here should team up with me and together we'll become Japanese!  :]

I study Chinese, but:
1. Chinese class didn't learn me worth @#$%
2. While I can understand most of the kanji alone, kanji often means something else when paired with katakana/hiragana.

So yeah :<

I have this urge to (very badly) translate this into Lojban (like Esperanto but less useful).

Should I give in?
