> Follow. Oh, better make sure we don't make things sprout again...

> You and Kogasa follow.  Along the way, you take care not to make things sprout out of the floorboards, but it's kind of hard...
> The three of you walk down the hallway and through the ballroom again.  You see the greenhouse in all its glory, and you can't help but hope that something similiar will be in the Human Village soon.  The faerie maid leads you and Kogasa in the opposite direction, and towards the stairwell leading down.  You soon find yourself submerged in a dark hallway lit only by small lanterns, with a pair of doors at the end of the hallway.
> The faerie flies over to the doors and opens them a crack.  Dim golden light pours into the hallway.
> "Hellooo?  Ah, Miss Koakuma--"  The faerie waves towards someone unseen.  "We have guests."
> You hear another girl's voice, some conversation exchanged between the two, and then the faerie maid turns back.
> "Miss Koakuma will escort you the rest of the way."

> "Thank you for your help." When the fairy allows us past, go ahead.

> The faerie curtsies and scampers off.
> You and Kogasa pass through the doors and into the library.  It's huge, how is there even room in the mansion for this?  The ceiling stretches high above you, as do the many, many bookshelves.  At the far end of the library, a huge clock rests on the wall.  The lighting here is poor, save for the lanterns on the bookshelves and lanterns floating about in the air.  Close to the entrance where you and Kogasa are standing is what looks like a makeshift study area, consisting of a desk loaded with all sorts of magical knick-knacks, and there are so many books that they have to be piled around the desk for there to be room.  There's also a fireplace nearby, crackling merrily and trapped in with an iron gate, presumably to prevent anything from falling in.  Near the desk is a tall, puffy arm chair with yet another book in it, but there's no one sitting there.
> Standing next to a book cart near the entrance is a girl with long red hair, wearing a clean uniform consisting of a black vest over a white shirt with a collar, a black skirt, black stockings, black shoes, and a black tie.  She has a pair of leathery, batlike wings on her head.  Is this a trend--
> Black and lacy.
> The girl lets her skirt fall back down.  "Welcome to the Voile Library," she says with a completely serious expression on her face.
> You don't think you've ever seen Kogasa look this confused.

> "Thank you." Bow to her, and head through the door.

> You thank Koakuma and head through the door with Kogasa.
> The room you enter is very cramped and cluttered with all sorts of books, papers, and other various things, some of which have nothing to do with magic.  There's a chalkboard with a lot of complex diagrams, runes, and magic circles drawn on it.  The walls are lined in bookshelves, except for the end of the room opposite the chalkboard.  That end of the room is taken up completely by a long table, with lots of papers tacked to the wall, including one spaces with magic circles drawn in various inks.  It has at least enough space for someone to write on it, but other than that, it's taken up both top and bottom.  There's a small, cluttered table at the center of the study surrounded by mismatched chairs, and the chair at the desk is another one of those puffy chairs like you saw at the library's entrance.  The floor is plush carpet, even the small stairs leading down into it.  The lighting for this room is provided by orbs of light levitating above each book shelf.
> You see Patchouli sitting on a cushioned stool in front of the chalkboard, drawing a magic circle that looks like it's made of celtic knots.  On her knee, she's balancing a dog-earred book, and occassionally pauses to look back at it.
