> Land and make our way along the road up the mountain by foot.
>You descend and make your way along the road.
>For some of the way, the forest is peaceful and pleasant, slowly rousing itself from the winter slumber. The remains of beautiful leaves, having slept the past several months under a blanket of snow, over the ground. Even in their decay, their colors are vivid and eye-catching. Supposedly this is where Minoriko and her sister live, but you have never seen then here.
>Then, as you carry on, the forest grows a little more cold. The trees become more angular, their bark closer to black than brown. You've passed through here before, so the chill in the air and the strange monstrous shapes that the trees make do not bother you, but you are aware that it is not just for show. Even the faeries here are different, less kind in their play and prone to nastier pranks than faeries elsewhere in Gensokyo. You are not terribly surprised to see red among the black of the trees ahead, as the guardian of this place makes herself known, pirouetting from the scraggly underbrush with rare grace.
