>"Very good!"
>Polish that thing off.

>"Yay!" she cheers. "I baked them myself. Marisa's kitchen is really dangerous..."
>You happily finish off the rest of the muffin. It was well-appreciated by your appetite, though hardly enough to satisfy it outright.

>"Nice hat."

>Honey's face lights up. "I know, isn't it awesome? Marisa gave it to me. She said that if I was going to be her sidekick, I had to 'look the part'."

>"Yay!"
>Honey puts a finger to her chin and frowns thoughtfully. "Don't remember," she says eventually.

>Can we hear any sign of Marisa in there?

>"Sure!" she says, turning and darting off towards the kitchen.
>You haven't heard anything that would suggest this.

>Stepping inside'd probably break her little heart. Better wait till she gets back.

>It just might at that. You decide to stay put and a few moments later, the fairy returns with another muffin, equally squashed. At least this kitchen excursion does not seem to have triggered another cacophony.
>"Here you are!" she says, extending the muffin towards you.

>"Thanks."
>Take a bite.
>"How've things been since I've been away?"

>"You're welcome!" she says cheerfully.
>You take a bite. Ah, food.... You are a good thing when hungry.
>"I've been working really hard!" she says. "Cooking and washing and doing all kinds of sidekick stuff. And Marisa's been teaching me other stuff, too. She has so many amazing stories!" Honey's eyes practically sparkle. "Did you know that she once beat up a whole legion of demons by herself, all so that she could save a princess from sleeping forever and ever? I wanna see something like that myself someday... and help out! Marisa even said I was getting better; that's why she could trust me with such an important mission like this." She nods a couple times in affirmation.

>Is the light we saw in the window the one that is in here?

>You're fairly certain it's coming from the kitchen, in addition to the light in the room before you.

>You're fairly certain that if there was much truth to that story, you'd already be aware of it. For one thing, demons aren't really something one can find legions of these days...
>Honey beams a little, and adjusts her hat.

>"And, she didn't tell you the important part of that story. That princess? It was me."

>"Really?!" Honey gasps. "You two are married?"

>"Awww..." Honey leans and gives your arm a hug.
>You sigh. Honey squeezes tighter.
>"Oh... you want to tell her you still love her..." she says, nestling her face into your arm. You almost wonder if she's about to start sobbing.

>"Don't worry, it's ok," she says softly, giving you another squeeze and then disengaging.

>"Once we get the emergency settled, then we can discuss... other things."

>Honey giggles, then darts off into the house. You hear the sound of objects being brushed aside and Honey struggling with something or other. You brace yourself for another crash, but it seems she's managed to escape without catastrophe for a second time in a row. She reappears with a sheet of paper in one hand and a voluminous quill pen resting in a black inkwell in the other. She offers them to you.

>"Sure thing!" she replies.
>You move off a little and find a spot to place the inkwell and prop up the paper. You glance back in Honey's direction; she seems to be keeping dutiful watch on the entryway in case anyone should suddenly try to make a break for Marisa's interior. Satisfied that she can't see what you're writing, you pen the note to Marisa.

>Do we think we can trust Honey enough to put that note in Marisa's hands the minute she gets back?

>On the one hand, she does seem very eager to be dutiful. On the other... she is also a fairy. You expect that it would be difficult to keep her from eventually reading it, in either case.
