A question. Is it a requirement to write a comment about your vote, or can it be without one?
I didn't write comments about anything. I simply voted on them and they accepted my votes.
I think you missed one question in FAQThat has been added at the top as an important notice.
The one that says LoLK characters and music are not available in this poll
That has been added at the top as an important notice.
I wanted to vote for many more themes in the music choices, truth be told. 7 is just not enough.I agree, and also, I'd like to be able to give more points to my top favourites. Still, regardless of the system, it's fun to take part in this :)
The best to do is to try to enter your ID again without inputting any vote. If the error displayed below appears, which means you already voted with this ID, then you're fine. If not, then you need to vote again.(http://i.imgur.com/SV3KeCN.png)
I come from the future, and I will now tell you all the first place results for both the character and music:A bit off, there. Like, around 257 points off.
Character: Reimu
1 3 14 Koishi Komeiji 7589 1603
By the way, is Koishi's point count not 7859?Thanks, fixed. I'll check through it again when I'm awake, since I doubt that'll be the only typo.
161 159 - Kutsutsura 7 0
That's the best I can do for the character poll at the moment. For some reason all the result names are coming up as nonsense symbols for me, so I can't search them to fill in the gaps. I've been using the previous results as a guide, but I'm still missing:
If anyone can fill these in then I'll vote for them in the next poll.
1 3 14 Koishi Komeiji 7859 1603
1 2 2 U.N. Owen was her?
#100, - Most likely the fortune teller from the Forbidden Scrollery manga
#128 - Kasen's seal (https://www.google.nl/search?q=%E4%B8%87%E6%AD%B3%E6%A5%BD+%E6%9D%B1%E6%96%B9&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=A4VrVeHuCIntUt-NgJAE&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAQ&biw=1920&bih=1066)
#132(1) - Any generic kappa
, #132(2) - Ichirin's occult, Hasshaku-sama
#136(1) - Futo's occult, Okuki-san
#138(1) -
#140 - The fox child in, I believe, Forbidden Scrollery
#146 -
#147(2) - Any generic Eientei rabbit
#150(1) -
#150(3) - Nitori's Occult, Loch Ness
#154 -
#155 - Human-faced dog from Wild and Horned Hermit
#157 -
#158 - Kosuzu's parents
#164(4) -
#170 - Shinmyoumaru's occult, the little green inchlings
#138 (1) is Unshou, the doctor in WaHH 11
#154 is Sendai Shirou
#157 is Enenra, the smoke worm in FS
#164(4) might be a reference to Kasen's ULiL spellcard that was only in the C87 demo version? Tohou Wiki being down is kind of inconvenient
#146 is "Tokage," and #150(1) is "Uwabami." I'm not sure who either are -- the only Uwabami I know is Uwabami Breakers, and that's a game, not a character.
#146 Tokage = lizard so not sure what that's referencing.I think that's Kasen's lizard from Wild and Horned Hermit chapter 24. It doesn't appear to be on the wiki right now.
You're both good people. I'm assuming #164(4) is Kasen's tiger from ULiL (Houso) and #150(1) is the unnamed snake youkai from Forbidden Scrollery. #146 Tokage = lizard so not sure what that's referencing.
Anyway, I've put them all in and someone'll doubtlessly speak up if they're wrong.
I think that's Kasen's lizard from Wild and Horned Hermit chapter 24. It doesn't appear to be on the wiki right now.
- Mai is more than 15 points better than Yuki.
By the way, curious about the voting structure. I noticed that Marisa has received most #1 votes (favour vote?) among all, but ended up 3rd. Reimu has more #1 votes than Koishi but ended up 2nd. It almost feels like people tried throned Kirisame Marisa as #1 and Reimu as 2nd place but the list turned out different because of the points? Or am I reading this all wrong.
There, I'm confident that the list is mostly due to the songs being older and therefore getting more remixes (obviously, the PC-98 stuff is even older, but gets less exposure than EoSD).One thing that's interesting in this poll is how nearly all the EoSD, PCB and IN songs gained more votes. Seems like nostalgia is kicking in or something.
To be honest, it's always kind of bugged me that Reimu was in 1st place, because I always assumed it had more to do with her being more recognizable, rather than people actually liking her. Which, in retrospect, is really rude to Reimu, but I still think it's probably true. I certainly can't think of anyone who would vote Reimu as their favorite character. On the other hand, I can't help but feel that people are jumping on the Koishi bandwagon because of recent knife-phone memes. Or maybe I'm just a cynical old bastard who has no place talking about character polls.
...I've also wondered why people like Septette so much. It's not bad, but it seems like an odd choice to me. There, I'm confident that the list is mostly due to the songs being older and therefore getting more remixes (obviously, the PC-98 stuff is even older, but gets less exposure than EoSD).
On the Reimu part i agree, although Koishi was already very popular.
About Septette, i can only speak for myself: i love it because it's extremely fitting with its related boss, and is a great piece of music even by itself
I certainly can't think of anyone who would vote Reimu as their favorite character.
Can you enlighten me about knife phone memes? Did they become known outside touhou community?
...part of me thinks that the folks out there confused Renko and Sumireko for one another. I mean, they're both with the surname Usami, so I think that that's what happened...If you're favourite character is Renko or Sumireko you'd be smart enough to know the difference between the two. Not the mention the fact that the characters were sorted by game, voters for Sumireko just went to the ULiL part.
Also, I think that the fact that U.N. Owen and Hartmann's Youkai Girl are separated by Septette for The Dead Princess is telling me that Remilia doesn't want Koishi near her little sister in the music department...
Koishi's Last Word in Urban Legend in Limbo is a reference to the "Mary-san" urban legend. Mary-san is an abandoned doll that returns to its owner, making phone calls to announce its location as it gets closer and closer. The final call is "I'm right behind you." Here's (http://safebooru.donmai.us/posts/2008650) a related picture from the game.
I certainly can't think of anyone who would vote Reimu as their favorite character.:(

Great, no need to analysis music category, because it's already screwed
I'm confused about what the vote totals mean. For example, since I voted for 5 characters, does that mean that 5 of those 32,244 votes are me? Or 6, since the 1st character gets 2 votes? Or does it mean that there were 32,244 voting forms turned in?I think it's the latter. Just count the total of first votes for all characters. Each of those should count as one for each vote/form.
If this is referring to the sheet, it has been updated to 32244.
I hope at least some of that made sense.
For instance, do you really think Cosmic Mind or Lost Remote lost hundreds more votes than HYG?Actually, it's nothing weird that Last Remote didn't get much raise, since people associate Koishi with HYG, and that's where the popularity boost goes.
I'm quite positive that it won't change the top 15-20 characters much, but after that I'm quite sure it changes a lot. This should be even worse in the music votes, since the end count (20000~) is actually lower than last year (23000~), when there's more people voting the character section now.
However, what you said there piqued my interest. I honestly didn't think of that until you mentioned it, so I went to check. It was quite a shock, really.
Cosmic Mind scores 3213, while previously it got 3827.
Compare Border of Life, which scores 3862, while previously it got 3836.
Either 600 people changes their preference this time, or the lost votes just happen to be a good chunk that picked Cosmic Mind, even if that seems unlikely. Who knows?
I won't be surprised if that get noticed.
For music, the lost votes are too large to not make an impact, even among the top ranks.
If we are to use pattern guessing, the music vote count should have been increased between last year and this year. however, between last year and this year, we lost about 2,500 music votes.
Conversely speaking, we gained about 1400 character votes between last year and this year.
So, going by pattern, we lost 3000+ votes in the music category. 3000 votes is a major change to all ranks, including the top ones. We are talking about approximately 15% deviation here.
・I get tired of that huge EoSD fanbase. Come on, UFO, TD, and DDC have great characters and musics, too.So this ^. Though IMO the huge fanbase also supports PCB and IN in addition to EoSD
Meanwhile, in music I made unpopular choices. And that hurts me. My favourite song is 131...I feel your pain man :( That song is literally one of my absolute favorites too. Last year I thought it'd become a classic in the polls so I gagged when it was 3digit rank

If I had to guess, the number of people who rank Reimu first is relatively few, but a ton of people voted her in their top five. I did.
Again, that's only true if those 3000+ votes were all towards the same small sample of songs at the top of the list. As far as I'm aware, all of the music votes were lost and the poll was extended as a result. Keep in mind I had to re-vote for music as well, and my choices didn't change at all. That would mean that either a) a lot of people changed their votes this year compared to last or b) a lot of people who like Cosmic Mind (continuing using that as an example) voted at the same time at the very beginning and then didn't bother to vote again when their votes got deleted.

It is quite clear majority voted for Koishi, even though Marisa has lots of #1 votes. It doesn't really matter any more.
I think I've seen a graph on Twitter showing sudden rise of Koishi compared to the last 11 years.
I'm pretty surprised that U.N. Owen took this long to beat Septette. I personally don't like it much, but I feel that it's one of the most iconic themes in the series.
To be honest, it's always kind of bugged me that Reimu was in 1st place, because I always assumed it had more to do with her being more recognizable, rather than people actually liking her. Which, in retrospect, is really rude to Reimu, but I still think it's probably true.
