Of Kedama And Fairies
Momiji said that Fairies keep Kedama as pets sometime, so the best person to ask what Kedama eat would be a fairy!
>You continue up the steps to the shrine, and before long you find yourself at the top, where you see a massive Torii(Shrine Gate), even taller than some of the buildings in the Tengu Village!
>Looking around, you see a few large pillars with ropes hanging from the top, you'd need to fly to reach those! You also see a little girl with a weird straw hat and a frog-print dress crouching near a puddle, she seems to be staring intently at it. You get a vaguely froggy feeling from her, and what a Presence! It's got so much force it almost weighs you down! Is this the goddess Momiji talked about?!

"Oh, I see you've found one of the many Rings that have been scattered throughout Gensokyo back when I fought the Red-White. That's a Weapon y'know, it should improve your Danmaku if you use them at the same time. And don't worry about not being able to keep it, Earth is one of my Dominions, so I can just make more."
>After that, you finish showing her Ponga. "A Jr. Kedama huh? So it just up and decided to follow you? Well, they say that Jr. Kedama are drawn to young Youkai. Now that I think about it, I can barely feel your Presence, so you must still be pretty young yourself right?"
>You ask Suwako what Kedama eat, and she shrugs. "Frogs, Salamanders, Newts and such I know all about. But Kedama are still a bit of a puzzle to even me. But Fairies are embodiments of nature itself, so they'd know...One of the few times that anything they know is actually useful for once."

This large iron ring you got from the Red Kedama is actually one of Suwako's many Iron Rings.
Apparently she lost a few fighting the Red-White, whoever that is.

Suwako said that Fairies are embodiments of nature, so they'd definitely know more about feeding Ponga.
Now all that's left is to find a Fairy that's willing to tell you!

Well, she lives out near the Border, I've fought her more than once, but that Ring you have has been out there for a while, I'd say it's been out there since the very first time I fought her."

The Red-White's fought her too, right at this very Shrine too. I watched the fight go down, and let me tell you, she's good, real good. But she seems a bit...I don't know, Off? As for the Fairies, they were probably arguing about Kamen Rider. How do I know it was Fairies fighting over it? Simple, it's something only a Fairy would fight over. Kamen Rider Amazon is way better, it's my personal favorite y'know."
